Urban, Suburban and Crossover - Outfits from Crewcuts

As you know, I'm big into crewcuts by J. Crew.  Zara Kids is also fabulous this season.  When I have to go to my dad's the next few weeks my mom will photograph the looks and be me guest blogger.  Hope you enjoy these. I put them together and think they work well!

Toys for Girls and Boys - KID ROBOT Dunny Event - August 19, 6-8 PM

Sorry I'm behind on blogging - Friday I went to Kid Robot, one of my favorite stores!  It's definitely not for everybody and some of it isn't PG but I think it looks cool.  Unfortunately, my favorite Dunny - Fatale was sold out.  Luckily they had Dunny Ye Old English and they told me Dunny 2010 is coming out soon.  There is going to be an event at the Soho store and some of the designers will be there to sign their work.  Here's the info:

Barbie Dolls of the World - Statue of Liberty Doll - Ellis Island Exhibit

I went to Liberty Island on August 6 to see the Barbie Dolls of the World Fashion Show.  It was very exciting and cool to watch the different countries in their native dress.  My favorite was actually the Big Ben model because her costume was so illustrated and looked like the clock in England.  For the countries, I liked Mexico's dress.

After the show we went to Ellis Island to see the exhibit.  They do give you a passport - but you have to go to the information desk to get it.  Once you finish filling it out they will stamp it for you.  My favorite doll is Spain - it was so beautiful.

We tried buying the Statue of Liberty doll but it was sold out!!!  I just found it on Amazon.com.  I think my mom will get the Big Ben or Eiffel Tower for me - I hope....

The exhibit ends AUGUST 15 so HURRY!  It is worth seeing if you are a Barbie fan.

For 30 years, Barbie® has celebrated diversity around the globe with the Dolls of the World® Collection, featuring dolls adorned in native costumes. This summer, the best of the collection comes together for the first time, representing more than 40 nations across all seven continents through a special exhibit on Ellis Island.

You can celebrate the 30th anniversary by visiting the exhibit at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum throughout the summer from June 16 through August 15.

Activities include filling out a Barbie passport about your heritage by answering questions found at the Barbie exhibit, and getting a glimpse at the latest dolls in this beloved doll series, the Dolls of the World® Landmark Collection, including Statue of Liberty Barbie.

Saving My Allowance For....Lanie's Camper and Gear from American Girl Doll

I've been dying to have this since it came out...it's a bit pricey at $295.00 though.  It goes with Lanie - the American Girl Doll of the Year.

I love American Girl dolls and books - it's interesting to see how girls from different time periods lived and how things have changed.

Barbie I Can Be - Tavi Gevinson and Me, Julia!

Flip Ultra HD Camcorder Review

\My mom bought me the Flip UltraHD Camcorder in white for my blogging.  I used it the other day when we went to the Statue of the Liberty and Ellis Island.  I recorded the Barbie Dolls of the World Fashion show, but since I'm just a beginner, the video turned out really shaky.  I did manage to record everything though.  My mom said she got motion sickness from watching it - haha.

Anyway, it's a great product, really easy to use - I recommend as a gift for any person of any age.  I'm 8 and I didn't read the instructions.  It has a red button that records and stops recording, and a couple other buttons that have pictures - like a trash button and the universal play button - both pretty basic.

I did get a cherry blossom skin to protect the outside and a silicone skin in case I drop it.   I suggest buying the charger and tripod with this immediately!  The charger is great to save on batteries and I wish I used the tripod for the Barbie video but I forgot it at home.

Book Review - Chapter Book Series - The Sisters 8, Book 1 Annies Adventures

I recently found a chapter book series called the Sisters 8 at Borders and I thought it was very exciting. The series is about 8 sisters who are octupluts. One day their mom and dad disappear and they find a note telling them they each have a power and are left with a gift. The story is creative, magical and adventurous. It's probably more for girls but it is enjoyable all the same.

Cheap and Cha-Ching

This fall I'm big into stripes, plaid and jeggings (more girly looks to follow next week - modeled by moi). There are so many places to shop. Crewcuts from J. Crew is one of my favorite stores so there's a whole section dedicated to them! It's so easy to find things that are cheap and cha-ching. Please feel free to send me suggestions - I'll post the best ones! If you want to see something like lace or something specific let me know!
